Wachovia Championship Single Day Tickets on Sale Tuesday

Organizers expecting another sell-out in 2005; ticket supply is limited

CHARLOTTE N.C., February 28, 2005– Single day tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 1 for the Wachovia Championship, the PGA TOUR event that returns to Charlotte May 2-8, 2005, at Quail Hollow Club. The general public may purchase tickets by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com or by calling (800) 945-0777.

Only a limited number of single day tickets are available, since daily tickets went on sale earlier as part of a special holiday promotion. Please note that tickets will not be available for purchase at the tournament site or during the tournament.

This year fans can purchase a new Practice Pack that includes daily tickets for Monday’s pro-am tournament along with Tuesday and Wednesday’s practice rounds for $25. Tickets for the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday are $30 each and tickets for the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday are $40 each.

To accommodate families, children age 12 and under are free with a paid adult admission (one child per paying adult).

Weekly ticket books are also available and cost $130 each. The books include admission to all seven days of the tournament. With ticket books, the same person does not have to use the ticket each day, allowing family members, friends and business associates to share the cost of the event. Weekly ticket books may be purchased by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com or by calling (800) 945-0777.

“Our holiday ticket sale was very successful this year and ticket sales are well ahead of where they have been at this point the past two years.  What a testament that is to the golf fans of this area,” said Wachovia Championship Tournament Director Kym Hougham. “Once again, we expect to have our third straight sellout weeks before the tournament begins.”

Proceeds from the 2005 Wachovia Championship will benefit Teach For America, a national education foundation that provides a corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit to teach for two years in underserved urban and rural public schools.

The Wachovia Championship’s $6 million purse is one of the highest on the PGA TOUR, guaranteeing the winner in excess of $1 million. Recently, the Wachovia Championship signed an agreement with the PGA TOUR to hold the event in Charlotte through the year 2010.
